6mm+ gem grade Tahitian Black pearl, French Polynesia

This 7-8mm , gem grade, natural colour and luster, non-bead cultured (keshis) Tahitian Black pearl loose lot was harvested in French Polynesia . It features excellent lustre , clean surface , and very good nacre . Tahitian pearls are harvested from Pinctada margaritiferal oysters grown in semi-enclosed lagoons. Responsible oyster collecting and hatchery technology contribute to make the sector non-extractive. Waste and resource management are crucial to ensure quality pearls can continue to be harvested in those ecosystems and provide livelihood opportunities to communities living in often isolated areas. The sector follows strict protocols described in French Polynesia department of Fisheries code of practice, making our supplier ethical.
