It features very good lustre , very lightly blemished surface , and excellent nacre . Tahitian pearls are harvested from Pinctada margaritiferal oysters grown in semi-enclosed lagoons. Responsible oyster collecting and hatchery technology contribute to make the sector non-extractive.
