15mm+ fine grade Tahitian Black pearl, French Polynesia

This 15.4X16.0mm , fine grade, natural colour and luster, bead cultured Tahitian Black pearl single was harvested in French Polynesia . It features excellent lustre , very lightly blemished surface , and very good nacre . Tahitian pearls are harvested from Pinctada margaritiferal oysters grown in semi-enclosed lagoons. Responsible oyster collecting and hatchery technology contribute to make the sector non-extractive. Waste and resource management are crucial to ensure quality pearls can continue to be harvested in those ecosystems and provide livelihood opportunities to communities living in often isolated areas.
